BEAUMONT, TX. – On Sunday 01/01/17 around 3:30 AM Beaumont Fire / Rescue received multiple phone calls of a house on fire. Fire department personnel arrived in the 1300 block of Fulton to find that a house was “fully involved” and beginning to spread to the house next door. The engine crews cut off the spread of the fire and began fighting the original house fire. The engine crews brought the fire under control in 45 minutes. Both the original building and the adjacent building are “red tag structures”. There were no utilities connected to either structure. The original structure is a total loss. The second structure received minor fire damage. The incident is being investigated as a deliberately set fire. One firefighter did receive a minor injured while fighting the fire. He was treated at a local hospital and released soon after. The firefighter returned to duty from the hospital. -JB
