On Monday, December 24, 2018 at 10:53 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 2800 block of Gulf in reference to an Aggravated Robbery. Preliminary investigation revealed that several black male suspects approached the victim while he was sitting in his 2018 Black Lincoln sedan, pointed handguns at him, and demanded his vehicle. The victim complied and as the suspects drove away with his vehicle, they fired shots.
About an hour later, a Beaumont Police Officer observed the stolen vehicle traveling north bound on M.L.K. near Calder. Officers stopped the vehicle near M.L.K. and Hazel and detained three suspects. Two handguns were recovered in the vehicle, one of which was stolen. Jamykel Rayquel Phillips, (a 17 year old Beaumont resident, pictured below) was a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested for Aggravated Robbery and Theft of a Firearm, then transported to the Jefferson County Jail. The driver of the stolen vehicle was a 15 year old juvenile and was arrested for Aggravated Robbery then transported to Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center. The third suspect was also a 15 year old juvenile and was released to a parent.
