On Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at about 4:58 a.m. Beaumont Police responded to J. Wilson’s located at 4190 Gladys in reference to a Robbery in Progress. While Officers were en route, dispatch advised that the suspects robbed two delivery truck drivers and fled in a silver Chevy Silverado pickup truck. Multiple Officers saturated the area, searching for the suspect vehicle. The suspects were described as two black males wearing masks, both of which displayed handguns during the robbery. An Officer observed the suspect vehicle near Calder and 1st Street and initiated a traffic stop. The suspects stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. One suspect was quickly apprehended and a short time later K-9 Gus & his Partner conducted a successful track, locating two additional suspects. Lonnie Lewis, a 17 year old Beaumont Man (pictured), was placed under arrest and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Lewis is charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Evading Arrest/Detention.
The two other suspects were male juveniles and they were also charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Evading Arrest/Detention. The juveniles were transported to Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center.
