On Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 4:18 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to a burglary in progress at AT&T located at 4460 Dowlen Road. A vigilant citizen called to advise that two vehicles with at least 6 black males were breaking into AT&T. Officers were able to locate the two involved vehicles near Park North Drive & Eastex Freeway. Both vehicles fled from police North, toward Hardin County. One vehicle of suspects lost control in the grassy median in the 1500 block of HWY 69 S in Lumberton. The suspects fled on foot from the disabled vehicle. AT THIS TIME, Hardin County & Lumberton PD are still ACTIVELY SEARCHING for the suspects near the area near HWY 69/Pecan and south toward Keith Road. They have attempted to steal at least one vehicle in the area, while evading police. We would like residents in the area to keep an eye out for these suspects. The general description is 4 black males, one has short hair and they should be muddy from evading police for the last 5 hours. If you see someone suspicious that matches the general description, call 911!! There is also a heavy police presence in and around that area.
The second vehicle continued to flee from police for a lengthy time, covering Kountze, Sour Lake, Jefferson County, back into Beaumont, then onto IH-10 East until the suspects lost control and disabled the vehicle in Orange. That vehicle contained 3 suspects, who fled on foot but all of which were apprehended. Two are adults and one is a juvenile. At this time, these suspects are in custody at Beaumont P.D.
Both vehicles used during the commission of these crimes are believed to be stolen out of Harris County.
We would like to thank the brave citizen who “Saw Something & Said Something” as well as the multiple Law Enforcement Agencies who are and have been assisting with this investigation. This investigation is on-going, more information will be released as it becomes available.
