(Beaumont, TX – August 19) Beaumont Animal Care is excited to announce that 40 animals, (21 dogs, and 19 cats) are heading to new homes this week after being adopted during its 2nd annual Clear the Shelter Adoption Event, this past Saturday.
The annual Clear the Shelter event is a nation-wide adoption initiative, held every August. In partnership with NBC-owned TV stations and the Telemundo Station Group, on August 17, 2019 over 1,400 animal shelters across the U.S. and Puerto Rico took part in the Clear the Shelters initiative, which features low-cost and fee-waived adoptions.
This is Beaumont Animal Care’s second year to participate in the national event. Not only were citizens able to look for their new best friend, but they were also able to bid in a silent auction that took place during the day as well. Many local businesses graciously donated items to be auctioned off as a way to donate to animals being cared for at the shelter. “A fun time was had by everyone that came to the shelter,” states, Matthew Fortenberry, Manager of Beaumont Animal Care. “We had over 200 guests that enjoyed Kona snow cones, bidding in the silent auction and getting to interact with the many puppies and kittens that were available for adoption”.
Anyone that was not able to make it out to the event is welcome to visit the Animal Shelter anytime during normal operating hours; Tuesday thru Friday 10:00AM – 5:30PM and Saturday 10:00AM – 4:00PM. Potential adopters may also call (409)838-3304 or 311 for more information.
