Tonight at 6:30, the Fall class of the Tri-Agency Citizen’s Police Academy will have their graduation banquet at the Beaumont Police Department Training Classroom.  For the last 14 weeks, thirty-two area residents participated in classes such as Criminal Law, Police Use of Force, Family Violence, Internal Affairs, Auto Theft, SWAT, Police K-9, as well as pursuit driving in a police patrol vehicle, and a day of shooting at the police pistol range.  All classes were instructed by area police officers, and they are free to anyone who applies for them.  The Citizen’s Police Academy started in this area in 1994, and this graduating class is the 42nd class to graduate.

The next class will start on January 22nd, 2015.  Classes are held on Thursday evenings from 7:00PM to 9:30PM.  There are two Saturday classes for shooting and driving.
