Today at 4 p.m. at the Beaumont Police Training Facility located at 255 College, There will be a ceremony for 3 Lieutenants who will be promoted to the rank of Captain. Please join us in congratulating Lieutenants Plunkett, Ocnaschek, and Schuldt in their new leadership roles.

Jason Plunkett is a 24 year veteran of the Beaumont Police Department. He started his law enforcement career with the Beaumont Police Department in January of 1992. Lt. Plunkett holds a Bachelor’s from Lamar University and a Master Peace Officer License.

Lt. Plunkett has worked in the Patrol Division where he served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Supervisor and Watch Commander. He served as the Supervisor as well as the Unit Commander of the Traffic Unit. Lt. Plunkett has also served in the Criminal Investigations Division as a detective as well as the Administrative Division where he was the department’s Budget Administrator. Most recently, he was assigned as the Unit Commander of the Special Assignments Unit. In his new position he will serve as the Division Commander over Patrol.

Tim Ocnaschek is a 30-year law enforcement veteran. He is a reserve Chief Master Sergeant, E9, currently assigned as Security Forces Manager to the Air Education and Training Command Headquarters, United States Air Force. Having joined the Beaumont Police Department in 1992, Tim served in the Patrol Division as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Specialist, and Supervisor. He also served in the Criminal Investigations Divison as an Investigator in the Narcotics unit. For the past 9 years, Lt. Ocnaschek has served in the Administrative Division as the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Beaumont as both a Sergeant and Lieutenant and also as the assistant SWAT Commander.

Lt. Ocnaschek is a Master Peace Officer, Internationally Certified Emergency Manager, and holds three degrees, including a Bachelor’s from Lamar University, and Master’s from Midwestern State University. In his new role he will serve as the Administrative Division Commander

Chris Schuldt is a 26 year veteran with the Beaumont Police Department. Lt. Schuldt holds a Master Peace Officer License and Bachelor’s degree from Lamar University. He has been associated with the Beaumont Police Department his entire life. His father was a sergeant in the Department when he was born and was the Chief of Police when Lt. Schuldt began his career in law enforcement in 1989.

He has spent the majority of his career assigned to midnights. Lt. Schuldt served in the Patrol Division as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Supervisor, and Watch Commander. He was selected as the Manager of the Year while serving as the midnight shift Watch Commander in 2008. He also served in the Administrative Division as the Training Sergeant. Lt. Schuldt most recently served in the Criminal Investigations Division as the Commander for the Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force. He has been active in teaching defensive tactics at the LIT Regional Police Academy since 2002. In his new role he will serve as the Division Commander over Criminal Investigations.
