The Elmo Willard Branch Library is hosting two books signings during April. The library is located at 3590 East Lucas Drive in Beaumont.
Connie Smith was born and raised in rural southeast Texas. Her parents had already raised three children to adulthood and were surprised when their youngest daughter was born. D. T. and Florine Smith had grown up during the Great Depression and had experienced World War II as young adults. Both of them had large, colorful families with lots of stories to tell their daughter. These memories and stories fueled their daughter’s imagination and she always knew she wanted to be the teller of the stories when the time was right. Now Connie Smith wants to share her stories for her daughter, her son-in-law, and her granddaughter. Hopefully the public will enjoy the stories she has to tell. Ms. Smith will be discussing her newest book, Treasures: Indiscretions and Roses on Saturday, April 23 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
D’Asyah Williams is a fourth grader from southeast Texas. She has lots of toys that she plays with on a daily basis. She especially likes baby dolls; she likes to play dress-up and teacher. She loves to act, dance, and sing. D’Asyah will be signing her book, Survivor: Breaking the Silence on Sexual Abuse on Saturday, April 30 from 1:00 pm to 3:0 0pm.
