Detectives are investigating a stabbing that left a 33-year-old Beaumont man in stable condition.

At about 8:53 p.m. Patrol Officers responded to a family disturbance at a house in the 1300 block of Liveoak.  Upon arrival, officers found the 33-year-old victim suffering from a stab wound to the left side of his upper back.

At this early stage of the investigation, officers were able to determine that the victim and his 23-year-old brother had been arguing throughout the day.  This evening, the argument finally escalated to the point of violence with the 23-year-old stabbing his older brother.

Beaumont EMS transported the victim to St. Elizabeth ER under a trauma alert.  ER physicians treating the victim listed him in stable condition.

Detectives are currently interviewing the 23-year-old man along with other witnesses.
