Attention All Beaumont Private Nonprofit Organizations and Houses of Worship (Churches)
The City of Beaumont Office of Emergency Management has been tasked by the State of Texas to be the official source of submitting Tropical Storm Imelda damage claims for potential FEMA funding assistance. Even if you have already reported the damage, it will not be assessed by the State and FEMA inspectors unless you provide the information through our office. Please respond with your best point of contact for damage information along with their contact information.
We need the location of the damage, name of the organization, very brief description of damage, estimated cost, and whether it is insured or uninsured.
Even though a Presidential Declaration was given for individual assistance, that does not cover government facilities or your facilities. Funding assistance for our facilities requires a Presidential Declaration for Public Assistance. We are currently working with State and FEMA inspectors to review damaged facilities and evaluate the cost estimates we are providing. So it is critical you respond promptly to this request for information if you haven’t already.
We can work directly with your point of contact if desired, or please pass along our email address and phone number.
The sooner we get this the better.
