On Friday, October 21, 2016 at 6:15 AM, Beaumont Police responded to the 7500 block of College Street in reference to a major crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. Investigation revealed that the bicyclist was traveling west bound in the left inside west bound travel lane (closest to the center turning lane) of College Street. The bicyclist did not have an illuminated headlight or red reflector on the rear of the bicycle. A vehicle also traveling west bound in the inside lane, struck the bicycle from behind. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The victim is identified as Glenn Grogan a 64 year old Beaumont man. Next of kin has been notified.
