Monday, June 19, 2017 at 5:37 P.M. , Officers responded to 1300 block of Pipkin in reference to a victim of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an 8 year old female laying in the yard in front of a residence. She had a gunshot wound to her left thigh area. Investigators were advised Darrell Oliver Lewis, 23 Beaumont resident, and two other males, Anteny Deshoun Hinson, 37 year old Beaumont resident, and Jocoby Quartez Vontoure, a 22 year old Beaumont resident, were involved in an going disturbance. Lewis and other witnesses told officers Lewis was in his vehicle in the area of Pipkin and Avenue A when he encountered Hinson and Vontoure. They were in a vehicle and opened fire on Lewis. Lewis tried to leave the area and Hinson and Vontoure continued shooting and struck the 8 year old girl that was walking along the roadway.
6-20-17 Investigators got arrest warrants for Hinson and Vontoure charging them with two counts of Aggravated Assault. Hinson was arrested shortly before midnight June 20, 2017. Investigators are still looking for Vontoure.
Lewis was arrested on an unrelated warrant 6-19-17. Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
