FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Beaumont Animal Care with the Support of the Humane Society of the United States Disaster Response Team to Transfer 145, Adoption Ready Animals to Tulsa, OK.
September 22, 2019
Beaumont Animal Care, working in coordination with the Humane Society of the United States Disaster Response Team, is set to transfer 145 adoptable animals to the Tulsa, Oklahoma Humane Society. During natural disasters, such as Tropical Storm Imelda, local shelters are inundated with an influx of rescued animals. For a shelter that is filled to capacity on a daily basis this transport is vital and will free up much need space for the incoming 4-legged storm victims. The Transport is due to take place today, Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Beaumont Animal Care Facility.
Beaumont Animal Care has been working around the clock, not only maintaining its own shelter, but manning animal stations at two evacuee shelters in the area as well, one at the Civic Center and one at the Central High School. The Animal Care Officers have been conducting animal rescues as well as beginning to ramp up their normal duties.
Anyone missing an animal within the Beaumont city limits is encouraged to visit the Animal Care Facility, located at 1884 Pine St, beginning Tuesday from 10:00 AM till 5:30 PM or visit their Facebook page on the internet.
