Monday, October 24, 2016, a Beaumont Animal Control Officer was called to the 1000 block of Pollard to check on an injured horse.  The officer found a one year old Buckskin filly with what appeared to be 22 caliber bullet holes in 2 places on the right rear buttocks of the horse.  The complainant told officers it possibly occurred Sunday, October 23rd.   The horse was then loaded on a trailer and transported to have a veterinarian examine it’s injuries.  The vet told investigators the horse’s colon was damaged when it was shot. The horse had a leak in it’s bowel on right side and was in a lot of pain.  The horse later died from toxic shock death.

Beaumont Animal Services is seeking information about the person responsible for this senseless act of abuse, and death of this horse.
