Beaumont Firefighters responded to a report of an apartment fire at 6860 Prutzman #18. They arrived to find a downstairs apartment involved by fire. The first arriving units made a quick attack on the fire and within minutes they were able to bring the fire under control. The occupants of the unit were able to escape unharmed prior to arrival of fire units. Occupants of two other units were displaced due to smoke entering their apartments. Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents. An investigation determined the fire was caused by a pot of grease being left unattended on the stove in apartment eighteen. No injuries were reported to any occupants or firefighters.
