At 3:41AM, Beaumont firefighters responded to 410 Winfield on a report of a building on fire. They arrived to find the building involved by fire. Fire suppression units conducted operations to extinguish the fire. While at this location, fire dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a building on fire at 1208 Gilbert. Other fire units were dispatched to this location and arrived to find the back of the building involved by fire. They made a fast attack on the fire at this location and were able to bring it under control within a few minutes. One firefighter sustained minor injuries while fighting the fire at 1208 Gilbert. He was transported to St. Elizabeth and is expected to be released. Both building were vacant, an investigation determined these two fires were deliberately set.
