Shortly after 8PM, Beaumont Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a bedroom on fire at 2155 Potts St. Fire units arrived on scene and discovered a rear bedroom involved by fire. They conducted an interior fire attack and were able to quickly extinguish the fire. A female occupant of the home sustained minor burns to her hands and feet while trying to extinguish the fire. She was treated at the scene by Beaumont EMS and refused transport to the hospital. It was determined the cause of the fire was an electrical overload involving a window air conditioning unit. Red Cross was notified and is assisting the occupants. No other injuries were reported.
