On Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at about 9:35 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to an apartment complex located at 2575 Primrose in reference to a disturbance. When the first Officer arrived on scene, he was told that someone had just been shot, and the suspect was behind the building. The Officer located the suspect, who then ran from the area. The suspect continued running away from the Officer, then threw the handgun on top of a business located at 3310 Concord. The suspect was taken into custody. Several witnesses were transported to the police station to speak with detectives. The suspect, identified as Keshawn Thomas, a 28 year old Beaumont man, was transported to the Beaumont Police station to speak with Detectives before being transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Thomas is charged with Aggravated Assault. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
