On Thursday, February 9, 2017 at about 2:50 p.m. Beaumont Police received several calls about the driver of a white vehicle, traveling westbound in the 6500 block of College, pointing a rifle at other motorists. One of the victims was able to provide a license plate of the suspect vehicle. During the investigation, Officers located the suspect vehicle at a residence in the 7600 block of Forrest Park Drive. Officers observed a rifle in the front seat of the vehicle but were unable to contact anyone inside the residence. Detectives were notified and a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle. An arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault was obtained for the driver of the vehicle, Travon Lamont Sherman, a 24 year old Beaumont man. On Friday, February 10, 2017 at about 1:00 p.m. Beaumont Police arrested Sherman and transported him to the Jefferson County Jail.
