Monday, May 1, 2017 at 9:16 am, officers responded to the 1100 block of McFadden in reference to a robbery of an individual that had just occurred. The victim said she was robbed by an acquaintance and he had a gun. An officer arrived in the area and saw a man that matched the description walking toward Harrison and Oakland. The man ran when he saw the officer. Officers set up a perimeter and called for a K-9. K-9 responded and began tracking. While K-9 was tracking, an officer observed the subject hiding under a set of concrete stairs in the 1300 block of Long. The subject was taken into custody and identified as Malcolm Renee Ross, a 51 year old Beaumont man. He was transported to Jefferson County Correctional Facility and booked in for Aggravated Robbery, Evading Arrest and over $6,000 worth of City of Beaumont Capias warrants.
The K-9 located a toy pistol that matched the description the victim gave and the victim’s money.
