On Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 5:02 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to an apartment in the 5900 block of Bedford Drive in reference to a victim of a shooting. When Officers arrived, they located a male inside the apartment suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was transported by Beaumont EMS to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Preliminary investigation on the scene revealed that the victim was at his girlfriend’s apartment, when her ex-boyfriend arrived to retrieve personal items. The ex-boyfriend, identified as Sherman Wyckoff Jr. (a 24 year old Beaumont resident), made entry into the residence where he shot the victim multiple times. Wyckoff fled the scene but was later located and placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was then transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
