On Wednesday February 12, 2020 at 6:47 a.m., Beaumont Police received a call in reference to a “Rolling Disturbance”, also referred to as road rage, near West Cardinal and 4th Street. The caller stated that someone driving a black Dodge Ram struck the back of his vehicle several times and was attempting to run him off the roadway. A few minutes later, Beaumont Police received a second call in reference to a Hit and Run that had just occurred in the 7900 block of Eastex, involving the same suspect vehicle. The second complainant, followed the suspect vehicle and observed it leave the roadway and strike a mud pile in the 4900 block of Plant Road. The complainant went to check on the suspect and the suspect fired several rounds from a handgun into the ground. The complainant called police and left the area, at which time the suspect fired additional rounds at the complainant’s vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and placed the suspect, identified as Ryan Rogers, a 26 year old Beaumont resident, under arrest. Rogers was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and Driving while Intoxicated. None of the victims were injured. Rogers’ mugshot will be added once his book-in is completed.
