Beaumont Man Arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading- HWY 105/Major Drive

On Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 1:12 p.m., two Beaumont Police Officers were patrolling near the area of HWY 105/Major Drive when they located a stolen vehicle with 5 occupants. The vehicle was previously reported stolen on July 3, 2018 from a residence in Beaumont. Officers initiated a traffic stop of the stolen vehicle near Tolivar and Kathy. The driver, stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. After a lengthy search of the area, the suspect, identified as Dontrell Tyrese Jones, an 18 year old Beaumont man was apprehended. The four other occupants were all juveniles and were released to their parents. Jones was transported to the Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force to speak with Detectives before being transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest.
