Beaumont Police Detectives have arrested Antonio Monte Jones, a 30 year old Beaumont resident, in connection with the shooting that occurred on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at a residence in the 800 block of Pipkin. During the Burglary, the homeowner was shot in front of his children and left paralyzed. A stay bullet also struck a neighboring home, entering a bedroom, where luckily the homeowners were not present.
Detectives have followed numerous leads and were able to positively identify Jones as one of the four suspects involved. A Burglary warrant was obtained and Jones was arrested today, Friday, January 10, 2020. It is believed that this incident stems from illegal activity. The investigation is on-going and additional arrests are expected.

Beaumont Police Detectives are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 11:33 AM, in the 800 block of Pipkin Street. 

Officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Pipkin and located a 30 year old Beaumont man in a bedroom that was suffering from gunshot wounds.  He told officers he and his two children arrived home and entered the residence.  He was confronted by

 

three black males in masks. One of the male suspects shot him and they ran out the front door. The suspects were picked up by a black male in a gray SUV.  (see attached picture of suspect vehicle in original press release)

The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS and was taken to surgery.   

The children were not injured, but one of the bullets went through the window of a neighbor’s home.  

The preliminary investigation revealed a gun, and possibly a large amount of money, was stolen.  Detectives have reason to believe the motive may have involved illegal narcotics.
