Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 3:10 am, officers responded to 3080 College Street (Baptist) in reference to a victim of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located the victim, a 33 year old Beaumont man. He had a gunshot wound to the face. A witness told officers Elkin Savoy, a 44 year old Beaumont man, shot the victim. The witness told officers the victim  gave Savoy a ride to the 4800 block of Park Street and then Savoy shot him in the face.  The witness transported the victim to Baptist Hospital for medical treatment.  The victim was transported to a Houston area hospital for further medical treatment. The victim was in critical condition and had to have surgery.  This morning the victim was in stable condition.

Monday, March 25, 2019, a warrant was issued for Elkin George Savoy III for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  His bond is set at $100,000.
