The Houston Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Beaumont Police Department are hosting a Post Blast Training for local law enforcement. As part of this training a live explosives demonstration will be held on Monday, June 25th, 2018. The demonstration will feature detonations of various types of explosives. This is a basic post blast course designed to teach systematic methods of investigating explosion scenes. The course provides instruction in explosive identification, applications, explosives effects, IED component recognition and evidence collection. The media is invited to attend and film the demonstration. Experts from ATF will be present for questions and answers. Spanish speakers will also be available for interviews.
