On Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 8:32 p.m., officers responded to the 4500 block of Pershing in reference to two shooting victims. Officers arrived on scene and learned two males were in the front yard having a heated argument. A family member tried to calm the males down. The homeowner went in the house and the other male pushed in the door behind him. They fought and the homeowner was shot in the abdomen. A family member was able to get the gun away from the shooter and the shooter was shot in the knee during the incident. Both the homeowner and the shooter had non life threatening injuries, but were both admitted for treatment. Detectives are still taking statements and investigating the incident.
There have been no arrests at this time.
