On May 30, 2019 at 2:15 p.m. Beaumont Police officers were dispatched to the area of 6155 Eastex in reference to Robbery that just occurred. The victim advised that a black male suspect approached her as she exited the J.C. Penny’s. At this time, the suspect shoved a gun in back of the victim demanding her purse. During the struggle, the suspect struck the victim in the elbow area and stole her purse. The suspect then entered a getaway vehicle that was being driven by a black female. At this time they attempted to flee the scene, but were being followed by a brave citizen who helped lead officers to the vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot nearby. Officers were able to arrest the driver identified as Kiondra Thomas, age 20. The Male suspect had exited the vehicle and fled on foot inside Wal-Mart. This suspect eventually turned himself into police shortly afterwards and was identified as Kadrian Cormier, age 19. Both suspects were interviewed at the Police Station and then transported to the Jefferson County Jail where they were booked in for Aggravated Robbery.
