(Beaumont, Texas) – September 23, 2019 – The Beaumont Police Department is driving out breast cancer awareness with the Gift of Life during October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its Pink Patrol Project. With an empowering breast cancer “wrapped” pink patrol car (sponsored by Robert Blackwell and Image 360), officers will raise critical funding for the Gift of Life Women’s Breast Health & Cancer Prevention Program.
“Grassroots fundraising is a critical component of success for our organization,” said Gift of Life Executive Director Norma Sampson. “We rely on the support of the community to continue providing free lifesaving healthcare services to medically undeserved Southeast Texans. We are deeply grateful for the Beaumont Police Department for their compassionate and immediate response to the underlying needs of our region. We applaud their creative way to share an extraordinary commitment to our cause!”
Businesses and organizations can sponsor the Pink Patrol Car to make a bold awareness statement at gatherings and events throughout the month of October. Participants can also share a memorial, honorarium or positive cancer statement on the Pink Patrol Car.
“Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women with the exception of skin cancer,” said Beaumont Police Department Community Relations Specialist Dana Ward. “We are proud to spread awareness of this important cause and help the Gift of Life raise critical funding for its lifesaving breast health initiatives.”
Beaumont Police Officer Haley Morrow will attend all Pink Patrol Car company and community events along with the Gift of Life Pink Pup Patrol, family-friendly puppy mascots that help enhance news and social media coverage.
The Gift of Life annually provides more than 2,100 medically undeserved Southeast Texas women with free breast cancer screenings, along with diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies, with access to cancer treatment, as needed. The organization has helped extend the lives of nearly 250 women whose breast cancer was detected through its free critical services.
The Pink Patrol Car is available throughout the month of October with a $500 sponsorship. It can be scheduled by contacting the Gift of Life at 409.833.3663
