Chief Jimmy Singletary will swear in a new group of officers during an Oath of Office Ceremony. The ceremony takes place on Friday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m. in the Beaumont Police Department Training Room.  The following men will don the badge and uniform of the Beaumont Police Department:

 –Kenneth “Bucky” Bean is a twenty-two-year-old resident of Evadale.  Officer Bean attended the University of Texas at Arlington.  Bucky successfully completed the Basic Peace Officer Academy at the Lamar Institute of Technology.  Bucky is the son of current Beaumont Police Sergeant Timothy Bean and the nephew of current Beaumont Police Officer Matt Bean.

Trevor Barnett is a twenty-five-year-old resident of Fannett.  Officer Barnett served in the United States Marine Corps and currently serves in the Marine Corps Reserves.  Trevor earned an Associates in Criminal Justice form the University of Phoenix.  He successfully completed the Basic Peace Officer Academy at the Lamar Institute of Technology.  Trevor is the son of current Beaumont Police Officer James Robichaux.

Matthew Snure is a thirty-year-old resident of Beaumont.  Officer Snure served in the United States Navy and previously worked for the Sheriff’s Office in Pasco County, Florida.  Matthew attended Military University and Lamar University and successfully completed the Basic Peace Officer Academy at the Lamar Institute of Technology.   .

After swearing in, these new recruits will spend twenty-two weeks in a rigorous field-training program.
