This past weekend, the Beaumont Police Department’s Explorer Post 730 went to the Texas Law Enforcement Explorer Advisors Association State Competition. The Beaumont Police Explorer Program gives young men and women in our community, ages 14-20, an opportunity to get personally involved in public service. Our Explorers strive to better the relations between the youth, the community, and law enforcement, as well as acquainting them with the goals and objectives of the Beaumont Police Department. The Explorers Program also promotes interest and provides training to those who desire a career in law enforcement.
This past weekend, The Beaumont Explorers Post 730 sent 2 teams to UT Arlington for the TLEEAA State Competition. A total of 64 teams from 30 Agencies competed for various titles pertaining to Law Enforcement. Our explorer teams each competed in 8 events over 2 days. They placed 1st in Traffic Accident, 1st in Crime Scene, 2nd in Traffic Accident, 2nd in Suicidal Subject, and won 4th place OVERALL team! Explorer Sgt. Charles Wagner also placed 2nd in an individual Non-Emergency Vehicle Operation driving course! We are very proud of all of their dedication and hard work!
