On Friday, October 9th, 2020 at approximately 7:32 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Taylor, in reference to a victim of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a victim in the front yard of the residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. Information was gathered that led officers to a possible suspect in the 2000 block of Leight. The suspect was transported to the police station to speak with detectives.. The victim was transported to a local hospital, listed in stable condition. The suspect was identified as Rustin McKinsey, a 34 year old Beaumont resident. After speaking with detectives, McKinsey was placed under arrest for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Additional charges are expected.
