On Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 5:37 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to Cypress Bend Apartments, located at 1605 Cornerstone Ct, in reference to a victim of a shooting. When Officers arrived they located a gunshot victim in a vehicle in the parking lot. The second person involved was located in a nearby apartment and detained. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a verbal disturbance between two individuals, escalated into both parties firing handguns at each other. The gunshot victim was transported to a local hospital, listed in stable condition. Detectives are interviewing several witnesses at this time. The investigation is on-going.
