On Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:28 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 5100 block of Oriole in reference to a shots fired call. When officers arrived, they located a vehicle parked in the street, still running, and a blood trail leading into a residence. Officers entered the house and located Cedric Carter, a 38 year old Beaumont resident, suffering from a gunshot wound. Beaumont EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear at this time and the investigation is on-going.
