Beaumont Police Arrest Two Additional Suspects in Homicide- Dowlen & Eastex

Beaumont Police Detectives have made two additional Murder Arrests for the following suspects in connection with the Homicide of Jesse Rodriguez:

Nyah Mayfield, a 20 year old Port Arthur Resident

Xavier Michael Parrish, a 20 year old Groves Resident

 

1st Arrest Press Release

Beaumont Police have made an arrest in the Homicide that occurred at the intersection of Dowlen & Eastex on Saturday, August 17, 2019. On Monday, August 19, 2019 BPD Detectives obtained a Murder Warrant for Martin Vincent Pettway, a 21 year old Port Arthur resident, in connection to the death of Jesse Rodriguez. Thanks to the many tips from citizens through Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers, Detectives were able to apprehend Pettway in Port Arthur. The investigation is on-going and anyone who has information but has not spoken with Detectives is encouraged to come forward.

On August 17, 2019 at approximately 5:47 p.m. Beaumont Police responded to a victim of a shooting in the area of Dowlen at Eastex. Officers quickly arrived and discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital and later pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Jesse Angel Rodriguez, age 20 from Beaumont.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a disturbance occurred at the CiCi’s restaurant prior to the shooting. The victim was shot while driving just after leaving the parking lot.

Detectives are still working to interview witnesses and gathering information. At this time, Detectives are asking for your help in identifying the people in the photos above. We need to speak with them in reference to this incident.
