On Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11 a.m., Chief Singletary will promote three Beaumont Police Officers. The promotional ceremony will be held in the BPD Training Classroom located at 255 College.
The following will be promoted:
Onafre Tyler to the rank of Lieutenant
Onafre Tyler, is a 13 year officer with the Beaumont Police Department. He is a second generation police officer. He is a graduate of Lamar University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts and Science and Master’s degree in Criminal Justice. He also holds a Master Peace Officer Certification. Onafre Tyler previously served in the Patrol Division as a Patrolman, Field Training Officer, and Supervisor. He also served in the Criminal Investigations Division as an Investigator with the SETX Auto Theft Task Force. Most recently, he served in the Administrative Division as the Personnel Sergeant.
Erik Kvarme Jr. to the rank of Sergeant
Erik Kvarme Jr., is a 10 year officer with the Beaumont Police Department. He is a second generation police officer. He is a graduate of Lamar State College of Port Arthur earning an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He previously served in the Patrol Division, the Special Assignment Unit, and most recently in the Narcotics/Vice Unit. He was a member of the Special Response Team prior to becoming a member of the SWAT Team. He is also currently a part of our SWAT competition team.
Tom Swope to the rank of Sergeant
Tom Swope, is a 15 year officer with the Beaumont Police Department. He previously served in the Patrol Division as a Patrolman and most recently, in the Administrative Division as the Range Master.
