It is with great sadness the City of Beaumont Public Health Department has to report a 4th COVID-19 related death of a Beaumont resident. The male patient was between the ages of 61-70 and had underlying medical issues. He had no known travel history.

The Beaumont Public Health Department (BPHD) received confirmation of 2 additional cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases to 54. (50 Beaumont residents, 2 China residents, 1 Fannett resident and 1 Nome resident)

The age ranges for today’s confirmations are:

1 between the ages of 51-60

1 between the ages of 61-70

Again, this is an important reminder that COVID-19 is a very serious disease. While 80% of the individuals who contract COVID-19 will have mild to moderate symptoms and fully recover, they may spread the disease to people who are at high risk. Older adults, people of any age with underlying medical conditions,  or people with weakened immune systems,  are at a much higher risk for developing serious complications from COVID-19. We strongly advise the citizens of Beaumont to minimize contact with others as much as possible and practice social distancing as outlined in the Stay Home – Work Safe Order issued by Mayor Becky Ames.
