To join the reading program for adults, please register online or in your local branch library (Beaumont Public Library – Downtown, Theodore Johns Library – 4255 Fannett Road, R. C. Miller Memorial Library – 1605 Dowlen Road, and the Elmo Willard Branch Library – 3590 East Lucas Drive). We are asking adults with children also reading in the Summer Reading Club to register in a library so that they can receive credit for having children reading this summer. Additional entries in the final drawing will be given to adults with children also reading in the Summer Reading Club for children. Any adult 18 years and older is eligible to take part in the adult reading program. A library card is NOT mandatory.
The online registration and the in-library registration will be available beginning June 3. There will be a weekly drawing. To be eligible for the weekly drawings, reviews must be submitted for the books you have read. You can submit your reviews on the library’s online forum or on a form provided in each branch library. For each review submitted weekly, the reader will be entered to win a gift card provided by a local business. To be entered in our final drawing, one book throughout the summer is required. Remember to submit your review.
The final day to submit reviews is July 16. There are two final prizes this year. World Gym located on Dowlen Road has donated a three month membership valued at $183.97. The library system is providing a Kindle ebook reader and case valued at approximately $85. The library system is also offering a series of games that must to answered correctly to be eligible for another weekly drawing. The games will be available in each library branch. Each game has a date when it is due back in the library. You do not need to register for the program or read any books to answer the questions on most of the games. There is one game that you must submit titles of books you have read to be entered in the drawing for that week.
