Beaumont Transit COVID-19 Safety Measures
The City of Beaumont contracts with First Transit to operate and manage Beaumont Transit, the City’s public transportation system.
First Transit and the City of Beaumont remain committed to the highest safety standards and are taking proactive measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for our customers and staff. This commitment includes daily sanitization of vehicles with electrostatic foggers using CDC recommended disinfectant and weekly sanitization of the Dannenbaum Station. Signage promoting social distancing on buses has been installed. Rear door boardings to limit interaction between passengers and bus operators remain in place and the system continues to operate fare free to accomplish this task. Face coverings are required at all transit stops, centers and on BMT vehicles.
Beaumont Transit has developed an Infectious Disease Policy in an effort to share our commitment to public safety with the community, our employees and valuable passengers. This dedication has led to improved communication and a decrease in COVID-19 positive test results. We will continue to implement industry accepted best practices to ensure the safety of public transportation in the region until the pandemic passes.
