Santa Clause is not the only person “making a list and checking it twice” during the Christmas Season! This holiday season marks the third year for out Cops & Kids Program “Courteous Kid Reward Program.”
Each December, Beaumont Police Officers take the time to acknowledge and recognize children they see displaying courteous behavior in the public. Beginning Friday, December 19, through Christmas Eve, Our officers will be handing out gift cards to children we see in the public displaying good manners and courteous behavior. The gift cards were purchased with proceeds from our Cops & Kids Program.
The program began three years ago when a group of our officers used their own money to purchase the cards to hand out to courteous children. This generous act was done in the spirit of the season and to exemplify the motto or our Cops & Kids Program, “Every child deserves to know that a police officer is a friend and protector.”
So, if you are a child between the ages of 5 and 13, and you are well behaved and courteous in the public, you might just be tapped on the shoulder by one of Santa’s blue elves to reward you for your behavior!
