A Visit from Blue Santa!

‘Twas the day before delivery,

when all through the station,

Blue Santa was jolly with anticipation!

The gifts were wrapped by our elves with such care;

the children knew not we would soon would be there!

The Beaumont Police Department Santa in Blue will deliver gifts tomorrow evening to over 200 children in our city.

On Thursday, December 11, Blue Santa and his elves will gather in front of the Beaumont Police Station, 255 College, at 5:00 p.m. They will then caravan to the houses of families to deliver the presents.  Our Santa in Blue, along with Head Elf, Chief Jimmy Singletary, will lead the caravan.  We invite media to join in the delivery.

Each year our Santa-in-Blue program delivers gifts to deserving children in our city.  It is the oldest, continually running law enforcement Christmas gift program in our area.

The Beaumont Police Department Santa-in-Blue Program started over twenty-five years ago when a group of midnight shift officers answered a routine call for service around Christmas.  They found that the household could not afford to celebrate Christmas with their children.  The officers took it upon themselves to buy, wrap and deliver gifts to this family.  That small act of kindness evolved into our current formal program that delivers gifts each Christmas to children in our city who might not otherwise have gifts to open on Christmas day.
