On Thursday, September 24, 2015 at approximately 10:38am, officers responded to a disturbance at Candyland Auto Sales, located at 1163 S. 11th St. The caller told dispatchers that Robert Charles Broussard was in the office throwing things and acting irrationally. Upon making contact, Broussard got in a silver Chevy Malibu and began evading the officer. After a brief pursuit, Broussard crashed into 3 other cars at the intersection of College and 11th. He was still combative and resisted the officer while being taken in to custody. He was transported to Baptist Hospital for medical clearance before being taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
One person, in a Buick, that Broussard struck while trying to get around traffic, was taken to Baptist Hospital to be checked out. There were no other visible or reported injuries.
Broussard was booked in for Evading Detention in a Motor Vehicle and Resisting Arrest.
