On Friday, September 17, 2021 at 7:09 p.m., a Beaumont Police Officer was flagged down at 6155 Eastex, at Parkdale Mall, in front of 2nd and Charles. The victim stated he was sitting in his vehicle, waiting for his wife to come out of the mall when he was approached by a black male brandishing a firearm. The suspect demanded his vehicle, and when the complainant exited two more black male suspects entered the vehicle as it drove away from the scene.
Officers patrolling the area located the stolen vehicle a short distance away on E. Lucas. Officers then attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the suspect refused to stop evading from officers. The vehicle then wrecked out after striking a curb near the intersection of Weiss and Magnolia. All three suspects then fled on foot and were apprehended after a brief foot chase.
The suspects were identified and found to be juveniles. They were processed and transported to Minnie Rogers Juvenile Facility where they were booked in for Aggravated Robbery with a firearm and Evading with a Motor Vehicle.
