BPD Detectives Charge Beaumont Man for July 11th Homicide-4190 Delaware

On Wednesday, December 9, 2020 BPD Detectives charged Jirou Jerrell Zachere JR, a 22 year old Beaumont resident, for the July 11th Homicide of Clifford Jones Jr. The Beaumont Police Department would like to thank the many citizens who called in Crimestoppers tips, which helped further the investigation. Zachere was in the Jefferson County Jail on other charges and the Murder charge was added today.

Detectives are Investigating an Early Morning Homicide and Aggravated Assault-4190 Delaware

Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 12:55 AM, officers responded to the area of Delaware and Lucas in reference to numerous reports of shots fired.  Officers were advised a victim was at 4190 Delaware #4.  A 23 year old female victim, who had been shot and had a non-life threatening injury,  flagged down officers and said her boyfriend had been shot and was still in the apartment. EMS advised the victim was deceased.  The deceased male was identified as Clifford Earl Jones Jr., a 24 year old Beaumont man.  The preliminary investigation revealed the shots were fired from outside the apartment.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and are in the early stages of the investigation.
