On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 11:53 a.m. Beaumont Police responded to a victim of a stabbing in the 600 block of Sixth street. Officers located the victim lying in the 2100 block of Mcfaddin near an apartment complex. Beaumont EMS was summoned and pronounced the victim deceased. The victim was identified as Creighton K. Landrio, age 48 from Beaumont. While on scene, officers located the suspect involved and detained him. The suspect was identified as Donald Bryan Cooper, age 37 from Beaumont. Cooper was transported to the station to speak with detectives.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that there was an ongoing disturbance between Landrio and Cooper, leading to a physical altercation, during which Landrio was stabbed. Detectives are still continuing the investigation and are speaking with witnesses.

After speaking with detectives, Cooper was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked in for Murder.
