On Wednesday, 10/01/2014, at approximately 10:53pm officers were responded to 1650 W. Cardinal (Express Mart #29) reference an aggravated robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival officers met with the clerk who reported that as her boyfriend was arriving to pick her up, two black males, dressed in all black , robbed both the store and her boyfriend. They were wearing all black, a ski-mask and one had a pistol. They fled with an unknown amount of currency from the store, and took the boyfriend’s wallet and cellular phone. They were last seen running toward Avenue A behind the store, and no vehicle was observed leaving the area.
On Thursday, 10/02/2014, at approximately 1:20am officers responded to 2210 IH-10 (Express Mart #10) reference an aggravated robbery. The clerk reported a single black male, wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants with a semi automatic handgun, entered and demanded money. The clerk complied and he fled in an unknown direction. It is unclear if this was the same robber(s), but the description matched, and the time-frame was close.
Detectives have video and audio of a similar aggravated robbery that occurred Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 1:58 am at 2210 IH-10 S (Express Mart #10). The suspect was described as 5’9, 110-125lbs, thin, wearing a black ski mask, red bandana, black t-shirt with a long sleeve white under shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes. He wore gloves on both hands and was carrying a black semi-automatic handgun. He was last seen running southbound from the store.
