In the early morning hours of December 24, 2019, BPD Detectives received information from witnesses who advised that they had located the person who they observed using Reily Frances’ vehicle (which had been recovered on the evening of December 23, in the 4000 block of Maida). Detectives arrived to speak with the possible suspect and through investigation they located evidence linking the suspect to Riely and his vehicle. The suspect was identified as Raymond Wayne Holmes, a 51 year old Beaumont man (pictured below). Holmes spoke with Detectives then was placed under arrest for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. It is believed that Reily Frances and Holmes knew each other and were seen at a local nightclub over the weekend.

The investigation into the death of Reily Frances is still on-going. Detectives are awaiting complete autopsy results and ask anyone with information to please contact the Beaumont Police Department at 409-832-1234.

Beaumont Police Investigating Possible Homicide-3100 block of Roland

***Update #2- BPD Detectives have located the victims vehicle in the 4000 block of Maida.

***Update- BPD Detectives have spoken with Ms. Carry and no longer need assistance locating her. We appreciate her cooperation and assistance with our investigation.

On Monday, December 23, 2019 at 7:30 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 3100 block of Roland in reference to a deceased body being located in a ditch. Beaumont EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. BPD Person’s Crime and Traffic Unit Detectives responded to the scene to begin investigating. At this time, Detectives are investigating the case as a possible homicide. The victim has been identified as Reily Lee Frances, a 60 year old, handicap, Beaumont man. Detectives are trying to locate the victim’s vehicle, a royal blue Volkswagen Jetta- TX License Plate- MGJ-0225, which may be stolen. Detectives would also like to speak with 33 year old, Melanie Carry who may have been the last person to see Reily alive.

The investigation is on-going and cause of death has not been determined, pending autopsy results. Anyone with information is asked to call Beaumont Police at 409-832-1234.
