BPD Detectives Release Name of 12/18/20 Homicide Victim- 3200 Cartwright

BPD Detectives have released the name of the December 18, homicide victim. He is identified as Michael Rodriguez, a 35 year old Beaumont Man. Detectives interviewed the female the evening of December 18 and did not make an arrest. The investigation is on-going.

On Friday, December 18, 2020 at 6:06 p.m., Beaumont police responded to a burglary in the 3200 block of Cartwright. The caller advised that her ex-boyfriend was breaking into her residence. At some point during the burglary, the female discharged a firearm and struck the male, who was pronounced deceased on the scene. The investigation is on-going. An arrest has not been made. The identity of the deceased is being withheld, pending next of kin notification.
