On Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 6:51 p.m., BPD responded to a residence in the 3900 block of Lou in reference to an Auto Theft that had just occurred. Investigation revealed that the victim left his vehicle running in the roadway in front of his house. He told officers that several juveniles were walking in the area and when he came back outside his vehicle was gone. At about 7:56 pm, a BPD Officer located the vehicle at Washington and 4th and conducted a traffic stop. The driver and passenger (both 14 year old juveniles) were taken into custody. The vehicle was released back to the owner. The driver was arrested and transported to Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The passenger was released to his parents.

Lock your vehicle, remove all valuable items, especially guns and remove your keys.
