October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In an effort to help raise funds and awareness, the Beaumont Police Department will participate in Jefferson County Constable Christopher Bates’ “Beards for Breast Cancer” campaign. Constable Bates’ campaign was intended for the month of October, however, we are going to continue it through the end of December. To take part, officers must donate at least $10 to the Julie Rogers Gift of Life Program for each month they wish to participate through the end of the year. For those that donate, our policy prohibiting facial hair will be temporarily suspended. So, for $10 per month until the end of the year, officers may grow a beard. Of course, everyone is welcome to donate – regardless of whether or not they are able, or even wish to do so.

Donations will be made online using the following link: https://giftoflifebmt.org/donate/  Officers are free to donate as much as they wish, and donations may be dedicated to a friend or loved one.
